This page outlines the current landscape and a practical path to compliance. The Current Landscape Textile and dyeing factories are key industrial pollution sources in Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur. More than 60% of small to medium factories lack functional ETPs or operate them intermittently. Rivers such as Buriganga, Turag, and Sitalakhya show high turbidity, persistent color, elevated COD and BOD, heavy metals, and non-biodegradable dyes. Conventional coagulants such as PAC or alum often struggle with reactive and disperse dye effluents due to complex molecular structures. Why Color Removal Is Difficult Color is not only an aesthetic issue. It blocks light penetration, harms aquatic ecosystems, and indicates the presence of toxic or persistent compounds. Many dyes are highly stable, water-soluble, and resistant to biological treatment. Meeting increasingly strict discharge limits requires a targeted physico-chemical approach. Targeted Decolorizing Chemistry Specialized cationic polymers neutralize and bind dye molecules to form dense flocs that separate quickly by settling, flotation, or filtration. Used correctly, they reduce color, COD, and suspended solids while improving downstream biological stability. Spotlight — BWD-01 Water Decoloring Agent BLUWAT Chemicals BWD-01 is a high-performance cationic polymer developed by BLUWAT Chemicals, with proven application across textile effluents and supply to more than 80 countries. Efficient Paint Wastewater Treatment: Lab Test with Bluwat Chemicals

At Bluwat Chemicals, we are constantly innovating and testing practical solutions in our laboratory to help industries meet discharge regulations efficiently and cost-effectively. Here’s a quick overview of a recent lab-scale treatment we performed on paint wastewater, demonstrating the effectiveness of our decolorization process: Step 1: Add Bluwat Compound Decoloring Agent Begin by adding the compound decoloring agent (such as Bluwat BWD-01) directly into the paint wastewater. Stir the solution for about 3–5 minutes to ensure thorough mixing. This step helps to break down and remove colorants, binders, and suspended solids present in the paint effluent. Step 2: Adjust pH to Neutral (pH 7–8) Use sodium hydroxide (NaOH) or diluted hydrochloric acid (HCl) to adjust the pH of the wastewater. Slowly add the pH-adjusting agent while stirring and monitor with a pH meter or pH paper. A neutral pH helps to optimize the performance of coagulants and flocculants in the following step. Step 3: Add Polyacrylamide Flocculant After the pH is adjusted, add a small amount of polyacrylamide (PAM) solution, either cationic or anionic, depending on the wastewater characteristics. Stir gently for another 2–3 minutes. You will observe large flocs forming as particles bind together and settle quickly. This step is critical for solid-liquid separation and improves sludge dewatering efficiency.

Aluminum Profile Wastewater Treatment

Aluminum profile wastewater refers to the wastewater generated during the manufacturing process of aluminum profiles. This wastewater typically contains various pollutants, including aluminum particles, oils, residual chemicals, and other impurities.   There are several methods for treating aluminum profile wastewater: Precipitation Method: This is a common wastewater treatment method that involves adding chemical coagulants to aggregate suspended solid particles and impurities in the wastewater, allowing them to settle at the bottom for separation. Centrifugal Separation: Centrifugation is used to separate wastewater into clarified liquid and sludge, with lighter impurities in the clarified liquid being removed to reduce impurities in the wastewater. Biological Treatment: Biological processes, such as activated sludge or biofilters, can be employed to break down organic matter and degrade it into safer substances. Membrane Separation: Various membrane technologies like microfiltration, ultrafiltration, or reverse osmosis can be used to filter and separate dissolved impurities and fine particles from wastewater. Chemical Treatment: Some specific wastewater may require custom chemical treatments to remove particular pollutants, usually based on the specific composition of the wastewater.   Bluwat Laboratory tried the chemical treatment of Aluminum Profile Wastewater.   Step 1: Add Water Decoloring Agent Step 2: Add Polyaluminium Chloride Step 3: Adjust pH to 7-8 Step 4: Add Polyacrylamide   As you can see, 99% of color and suspended solids were removed.   If you also have trouble treating the aluminum profile, try this solution, We would love the hear your feedback!
