Description:

  • Non-ionic polyacrylamide (NPAM) is a water-soluble polymer that is made up of acrylamide subunits with the molecular formula C3H5NO. It has a high molecular weight range of 5-8 million and an anionic charge density ranging from 0-10%. Our N850 grade has low to medium molecular weight and low charge degree. This chemical is commonly used to increase water viscosity and to encourage the flocculation of particles in water.
  • Thanks to the polar groups on the molecular chain, NPAM can adsorb solid particles suspended in water, bridge between particles, or use its charge to make particle formation into large flocs condensation. This allows for faster settlement of suspended particles and promotes filtering and solution clarification.
  • NPAM is mainly used in various industrial wastewater treatments, such as iron and steel plant wastewater, electroplating wastewater, wastewater metallurgy, coal washing wastewater treatment, and sludge dewatering. It can also be used for drinking water purification treatment and in sugar & juice mills.
  • This chemical is safe, non-toxic, and has hydrolytic stability, making it insensitive to pH value changes and anti-chlorine. It is harmless, non-flammable, and non-explosive, and can be stored at room temperature. However, it should not be placed in direct sunlight. NPAM is slightly acidic, so immediate washing with plenty of water is necessary in case of skin contact.

Application Fields:

 

1. Oil field profile controlling and water-plugging agent:

The product can be matched with lignocellulose, a certain amount of chemical adhesive can be added, and the product can be used as oil field profile controlling and water-plugging agent.

 

2. Well Drilling Mud Additives:

In oilfield, as mud additives to increase the viscosity of water to improve the effectiveness of the water flooding process.

 

3. Industrial Wastewater Treatment:

Dosing polyacrylamide can reduce the consumption of coagulant and speed up sedimentation.

 

4. Textile Auxiliary Agent:

PAM can be added with some other chemicals to prepare chemical grout, is used to starch textiles, can improve the adhesive property, penetrability and desizing performance, enables the textile to have electrostatic prevention performance, reduces the desizing rate, and reduces the starch mixing spots, cloth machine breaking efficiency, and falling objects.

 

5. Paper-making:

PAM can be used as a fixing agent, residency agent, filtration aid and paper dry and wet intensity reinforcing agent in the paper-making industry.

 

6. Mine Washing:

PAM can be used in coal washing tailing centrifugal separation, for sedimentation and filtration of coal powder and coal mud, and can improve the recovery rate of coal powder and the filtration speed.

 

7. Sewage Water Treatment:

When sewage water systems are acidophilic, it is more suitable to select nonionic-polyacrylamide, the product can be matched with PAC, aluminum sulfate and the like, and it has the best effect in water treatment.

 

8. Metallurgical Mineral Dressing:

It can be used in floatation and smelting of Zinc, manganese and copper mines, its leachate and slag can be added into PAM to improve the separation efficiency.

 

9. Sand Prevention and Solidification:

Functional Principle

Flocculation Mechanism:

Adsorbing suspension particles, polymer chains entangle and cross-link each other to form bridging and make flocculation structure enlarge and thicken, and has the functions of surface adsorption and electric neutralization.

Reinforcing Mechanism:

PAM molecule chain and dispersed phase form bridging bond, ion bond, and covalent bond to increase combination strength.

 

Application Methods:

1

Dissolving 

concentration:

Non-ionic Polyacrylamide (polyelectrolyte/flocculant) should be standardly be dissolved to 0.1-0.5% concentration.

Dissolving 

time:

The time required to dissolve the flocculant varies according to the type of flocculant, water quality, temperature, and agitation. However, most flocculants generally require around 1 hour of agitation to completely dissolve the powder. The incomplete mixture of flocculant or lumping may inhibit the performance of the flocculant.

Application 

and Dosage:

The dosage range varies from 1 - 3.0 ppm depending upon the type of effluent and application. Advised to do jar tests for evaluating the functioning and approximate dosage.
