How to Use Blufloc Polyacrylamide?
Dosage and Application: The appropriate dosage of flocculant ranges from 0.2 to 3.0 ppm, depending on the type of effluent and its intended use. It is recommended to conduct a jar test to determine the proper functioning and approximate dosage. Jar Test Procedure: To conduct a jar test, place a sample of effluent in a beaker and add the designated amount of flocculant. Agitate the mixture for 1 minute at 100-120 rpm, then gradually reduce the speed to 60 rpm. Evaluate the floc formation, sedimentation, and clarity of the top solution at this point. Dispersion and Dissolution of Flocculants: The time required to dissolve the flocculant varies depending on the type of flocculant, water quality, temperature, and agitation. Generally, most flocculants require approximately 1 hour of agitation to fully dissolve the powder. Incomplete mixing or lumping of the flocculant can hinder its performance. The ideal agitation speed ranges from 200-400 rpm. High-speed agitation without reducing the motor revolution is not recommended, as it may damage the flocculant molecules. An ideal agitator motor should have a power of 1HP for a 1-2m3 mixing tank. Flocculants should be dissolved to a concentration of 0.1-0.2%. Starting at a slightly higher concentration and then diluting the mixture immediately before use can also be effective. Handling Measures and Precautions: It is important to wear appropriate safety gear, such as splash goggles, lab coats, vapor respirators, gloves, and boots, when handling and applying chemicals. In case of skin contact, wash the affected area with water immediately. If the product gets into the eyes, flush them with fresh water and seek medical attention. The product should not be injected. Please refer to the MSDS for additional details. |
Packaging & Storage:
The product is packaged in either 25kg kraft paper bags or white PE bags, and placed on a pallet. It should be kept in its original packaging and stored in a cool, dry location. The shelf life of the product is two years. |
