Blufloc APAM is a dry anionic flocculant for evaluating suspended-solids recovery from potato starch wastewater. The recommended make-up concentration is 0.1–0.5%. Testing should distinguish recoverable suspended starch and fiber from dissolved organic material that needs further wastewater treatment.
Potato starch wastewater can include granule losses, fine fiber and other organic suspended matter. Its composition depends on the sampled process stage and the separation already installed. A stream collected after primary starch recovery may have a different polymer response from mixed washing water or final combined effluent.
A compatible APAM grade can aggregate fine suspended particles into separable flocs. The objective may be lower solids loading to downstream treatment, improved handling of captured material or recovery for a defined industrial use. The captured fraction should not automatically be marketed as pure starch or as a suitable food or feed ingredient.
Support recovery trials on suspended potato starch and fiber losses.
Provide a defined solution preparation range for reproducible testing.
Compare recovered-solids handling with the quality of the separated water.
Integrate polymer screening with existing physical recovery equipment.

Molecular weight and charge ranges describe the product family. Confirm the selected grade and current batch specification with Bluwat. The pH of a 1% product solution is a test parameter, not the required plant operating pH.
Sample the selected stream consistently and measure suspended solids before treatment. Review whether primary screens or separators can recover useful material before chemical addition. Prepare APAM solution, add it to the remaining fine-solids stream and compare sedimentation or flotation as appropriate. Test the captured material for its intended destination and assess the remaining liquid's treatment needs.
The make-up solution range of 0.1–0.5% does not prescribe a wastewater dosage. Select charge and molecular weight using the actual fine-solids mixture, then determine a dose response at the site conditions. If polymer-treated solids will enter food or feed, obtain specific use confirmation before trials intended for production recovery.
Track suspended-solids capture, recovered dry mass, solids composition, separation time and downstream load. Test dissolved COD separately where it governs biological treatment. A clear supernatant can still carry dissolved organic material and cannot alone establish discharge or reuse compliance.
Prepare a 0.1–0.5% solution by mass using clean water. Add powder gradually to moving water to avoid lumps. Allow around one hour for dissolution, adjusting for grade, water quality and temperature. The TDS gives 200–400 rpm as a mixing reference; adapt mixing to the actual tank and impeller. Avoid unnecessary high shear after dissolution. A 0.1% solution contains 1 kg of product per 1,000 kg of final solution. Select the treatment dose separately through controlled trials.
Featured packaging is a 25 kg PE bag with an inner plastic liner. Store the dry product sealed at 0–35 °C, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. The stated shelf life is two years under specified storage conditions. Reseal opened packaging and follow the current SDS for handling and spill cleanup.
Not necessarily. Identify the recovery opportunity first; mixing may dilute a useful solids stream or change its composition.
No. It is the polymer solution preparation concentration. Establish the wastewater dose from comparative trials.
That requires review of the material, contamination risks and polymer use suitability for the specific feed application.
No. It mainly captures suspended material. Dissolved organics can remain and need other treatment.
Bluwat Chemicals is a China-based manufacturer and exporter of water treatment chemicals and functional polymers.
