Cationic Polyacrylamide, short name CPAM, also called Cationic Polyelectrolyte, is a copolymer of acrylamide and quaternized cationic monomer with different ranges of molecular weight from 5-12 million, and a charge density ranging from 10-60%.
Our C-8050 grade has a high molecular weight and a very high charge degree.
Cationic Polyacrylamide is mostly used as a flocculant or thickener to increase the viscosity of water (creating a thicker solution) or to encourage the flocculation of particles present in different kinds of water.
Polyacrylamide has a certain amount of polar groups on the molecular chain, it can be through the adsorption of solid particles suspended in water, bridging between particles, or through the charge and making the particle formation of large flocs condensation. So, it can accelerate the settlement of particles in suspension, obviously to speed up the solution to clarify, promote filtering, and other effects.
As the flocculants, it is mainly used for various industrial effluent flocculation sedimentation, and clarification treatment, such as iron and steel plant effluent, paper effluent, food plant effluent, textile effluent, electroplating wastewater, wastewater metallurgy, coal washing wastewater treatment, sludge dewatering.
Polyacrylamide is soluble in water, safe, non-toxic, hydrolytic stable, is not sensitive to the change of pH value, anti-chlorine. Non-flammable and non-explosive, it can be stored at room temperature, it cannot be placed in the sun.

Flocculation Mechanism: Adsorbing suspension particles, polymer chains entangle and cross-link each other to form bridging, make flocculation structure enlarge and thicken, and have the functions of surface adsorption and electric neutralization. |

Dissolving concentration: |
We suggest dissolving it as 0.1-0.5% concentration standardly. |

Dissolving time: |
Dissolving time is according to the water quality, temperature, and agitation. However, most flocculants generally require around 1 hour of agitation to completely dissolve the powder. An incomplete mixture of flocculants or lumping may inhibit the performance of the flocculant. |

Agitation speed: |
Idea revolution agitator is between 200-400rpm if a high-speed agitator operating without reducing the revolution of a motor is not advised, since it may cut the molecules of the flocculant. An ideal agitator motor should be 1HP for a 1-2m3 mixing tank. |

Application and Dosage: |
The dosage range varies from 1 - 3.0 ppm depending upon the type of effluent and application. Advised to do jar tests for evaluating the functioning and approximate dosage. |

Jar Test:

Put wastewater sample in a beaker and add it as designated, agitate for 1 minute at 100-120 rpm and then slowly agitate at 60rpm. Determine the flocs properly at this time and note the sedimentation and clarity of top solution. |
