Spray-dried yellow PAC developed for dose-control programs where source water shifts between dry-season color and wet-season turbidity.
In seasonal raw-water treatment, the practical objective is to avoid using one year-round dose when the dominant particles and coagulant demand change. PAC-02 is used as a coagulant, not as a complete treatment system.
Its role is to serve as the primary coagulant within a dose-control program based on source conditions. The grade is positioned for drinking-water and general process-water applications, and its spray-dried form dissolves rapidly when the solution is prepared correctly.
Dry periods may concentrate natural organic matter and increase the importance of color response, pH, alkalinity and temperature.
Storm runoff may introduce mineral solids, increase turbidity and change the required dose, floc behavior and sludge yield.
The relevant feed is typically a source that shifts between dry-season color and wet-season turbidity. The main difficulty is that dry periods may concentrate organics while storms add mineral solids, altering charge demand and floc behavior.
As a result, untreated water may show unstable turbidity, weak settling, short filter runs or poor solid-liquid separation. A useful product page must distinguish the removable suspended or colloidal fraction from dissolved contaminants that require other processes.
The recommended role for PAC-02 is to serve as the primary coagulant within a dose-control program based on source conditions. It is normally applied at rapid mix before a clarification process whose setpoints are adjusted by season.
When PAC hydrolyzes in water, positively charged aluminium species reduce particle repulsion. Hydroxide floc then enmeshes fine matter and creates aggregates that can be settled, floated or filtered. Effective rapid mixing must distribute the coagulant before slower floc growth begins.

Operators should follow pH, alkalinity, turbidity, color, temperature, jar-test optimum and sludge yield. These indicators show whether the treatment target is being achieved and whether the dose is creating unnecessary sludge or downstream carryover.
PAC is a pre-hydrolyzed inorganic polymeric coagulant. After dispersion, its cationic aluminium species adsorb on negatively charged particles and reduce the electrical barrier that keeps them apart. As hydrolysis continues, aluminium hydroxide floc provides a sweep-coagulation surface that captures fine particles.
Separation performance therefore depends on product dose, pH, alkalinity, mixing sequence, flocculation time and the selected settling, DAF or filtration equipment.
Characterize the source that shifts between dry-season color and wet-season turbidity, including pH, turbidity or TSS and the contaminants that may remain dissolved.
Prepare the solid PAC as a 2–20% solution with clean water. Allow complete dispersion and keep the solution system clean.
Run a jar test around the TDS reference range of about 1–15 g/MT and reproduce the intended process position: at rapid mix before a clarification process whose setpoints are adjusted by season.
Use rapid mixing for coagulant distribution, then slower mixing for floc growth. Avoid excessive shear after the floc has formed.
Select the lowest stable dose that meets the target while monitoring pH, alkalinity, turbidity, color, temperature, jar-test optimum and sludge yield.
Choose PAC-02 because the wider basicity range provides a practical grade for variable source water. Start with the product specification, but make the final selection on representative water.
Compare at least three doses, include the current coagulant as a control and keep pH, mixing energy and settling time consistent. The TDS gives about 1–15 g/MT for solid PAC as a general reference; the optimum may differ with the water and must be confirmed by laboratory and plant trials.
PAC-01 and PAC-02 are the starting grades for drinking-water and cleaner process-water duties. PAC-01 is white with 45–55% basicity, while PAC-02 is yellow with 45–85% basicity. PAC-031 is the industrial grade with 29% minimum Al2O3, 50–90% basicity and a higher allowable insoluble fraction. Grade selection should reflect treated-water requirements, feed variability and total treatment cost rather than color alone.
Bluwat Chemicals has manufactured water-treatment chemicals since 2000. The company operates three production bases, exports to more than 80 countries and has served over 5,000 industrial customers. For seasonal raw-water treatment, this experience supports grade matching, sample evaluation and communication between the buyer, sales team and technical team before scale-up.
Direct factory support includes batch COA, current TDS and SDS documents, packing checks and traceable quality control for the selected PAC grade. Buyers can compare PAC-02 with other PAC grades using actual water rather than relying only on product color or one headline parameter.
Solid PAC is packed in a 25kg inner plastic bag with a polypropylene woven outer bag. Store the sealed original package in a cool, dry place away from heat, flame and direct sunlight.
Prepare a 2–20% solution before dosing, using clean water and sufficient mixing. Do not use wet, contaminated or severely caked material without evaluation.
It is a candidate grade because the wider basicity range provides a practical grade for variable source water. Suitability must still be verified with the actual water, treatment objective and downstream process.
The supplied TDS gives about 1–15 g/MT for solid PAC as a general reference. Start with a dose-response jar test and confirm the result at plant scale; do not copy a dose from another site.
Prepare a 2–20% solution using clean water and adequate mixing. Avoid dumping dry powder directly into a poorly mixed tank, and protect the stored product from moisture.
Track pH, alkalinity, turbidity, color, temperature, jar-test optimum and sludge yield. Also verify the limitation that temperature and organic changes can require process changes beyond a simple dose adjustment.
