Blufloc NPAM is a low-charge polymer for evaluating solids clarification in suitable chemical wastewater. The product specification includes a maximum residual monomer level of 0.05%. In this application, low charge describes the proposed polymer function, not a defined wastewater classification or guaranteed treatment response.
Chemical manufacturing wastewater can contain precipitated minerals, organic particles, colloids and dissolved substances in widely varying combinations. Identifying the suspended fraction and its formation conditions is essential before selecting a flocculant. A clear-looking sample can still contain dissolved contaminants that do not respond to particle separation.
NPAM can be evaluated where particle bridging with limited ionic contribution is appropriate, often after a suitable reaction or coagulation stage. Its selection should follow the wastewater chemistry and separation requirement. Low charge does not imply chemical inertness or universal compatibility with solvents, oxidants or concentrated process chemicals.
Provide a low-charge bridging candidate for compatible chemical effluent solids.
Support comparison after precipitation or coagulation has formed particles.
Include a documented maximum residual monomer specification.
Match polymer choice to clarification and sludge handling requirements.

Molecular weight and charge ranges describe the product family. Confirm the selected grade and current batch specification with Bluwat. The pH of a 1% product solution is a test parameter, not the required plant operating pH.
Identify the contaminants and the treatment reaction that creates separable solids. Complete the relevant reaction and establish pH before polymer screening. Prepare NPAM separately, dose it into the particle-bearing water and compare floc growth and separation. Evaluate the selected condition with the actual separator and the expected variability of the chemical production stream.
Record pH, conductivity, suspended solids, coagulants and any reactive substances that may affect polymer compatibility. Compare NPAM with suitable anionic or cationic grades rather than assuming low charge is always preferable. The residual monomer specification is a quality parameter and does not rank clarification efficiency or prove the absence of all treatment residuals.
Monitor suspended solids, turbidity, settling or flotation response, sludge volume and polymer use. Measure dissolved target contaminants separately. Where metals are precipitated upstream, analyze the residual metal concentration rather than treating good floc appearance as evidence of complete removal.
Prepare a 0.1–0.5% solution by mass using clean water. Add powder gradually to moving water to avoid lumps. Allow around one hour for dissolution, adjusting for grade, water quality and temperature. The TDS gives 200–400 rpm as a mixing reference; adapt mixing to the actual tank and impeller. Avoid unnecessary high shear after dissolution. A 0.1% solution contains 1 kg of product per 1,000 kg of final solution. Select the treatment dose separately through controlled trials.
Featured packaging is a 25 kg PE bag with an inner plastic liner. Store the dry product sealed at 0–35 °C, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. The stated shelf life is two years under specified storage conditions. Reseal opened packaging and follow the current SDS for handling and spill cleanup.
It identifies a duty where a low-charge polymer is being considered. The wastewater itself still needs full characterization.
Do not assume so. This application concerns aggregation of particles; dissolved metals require suitable chemistry and analytical verification.
No. It is a product quality limit. Performance depends on grade, particles, chemistry, mixing and separation.
The TDS gives an ionic degree range of 0–5%. Confirm the specification of the actual selected grade.
