Blufloc CPAM is an off-white granular cationic polyacrylamide for conditioning tannery sludge before mechanical dewatering. Its particle size is 20–100 mesh. Selection must account for the source of the sludge, upstream chemical treatment and the proportion of organic and mineral solids.
Leather processing produces different wastewater streams from soaking, liming, tanning and finishing. Sludge may contain proteins, fats, precipitated chemicals and biological solids. Chromium-bearing sludge, where present, should be evaluated within the plant's designated collection and treatment system rather than treated as an interchangeable organic sludge.
Blufloc CPAM can help compatible fine solids form water-releasing flocs before a press or centrifuge. Its function is sludge conditioning. Polymer treatment does not by itself remove dissolved chromium from wastewater or change the classification of a contaminated sludge. Those questions depend on the upstream treatment and the resulting analysis.
Support aggregation of compatible tannery sludge particles.
Match cationic charge to organic and chemically precipitated sludge blends.
Compare solids capture and cake handling on the actual machine.
Supply a granular powder in manageable 25 kg PE bags.

Molecular weight and charge ranges describe the product family. Confirm the selected grade and current batch specification with Bluwat. The pH of a 1% product solution is a test parameter, not the required plant operating pH.
Identify the sludge source and complete the required upstream treatment before polymer screening. Collect representative thickened sludge and prepare CPAM separately. Compare grades using drainage and floc-strength observations, then meter the selected solution into the conditioning stage. Verify performance after normal pumping and transfer, particularly where a plate-and-frame press requires a permeable cake structure.
Check pH, conductivity, solids content and residual coagulants. High salt content and changing chemical sludge proportions can alter the best charge level. Where different tannery sludge streams are blended, test the normal blend and likely extremes. Select on dewatering performance at comparable loading rather than on powder color or floc appearance alone.
Monitor cake dry solids, filtrate suspended solids, press cycle time and polymer use per dry tonne. Analyze metals or other contaminants separately when needed for the treatment objective. Improved water release does not demonstrate that the cake is suitable for unrestricted reuse or disposal.
Prepare a 0.1–0.5% solution by mass using clean water. Add powder gradually to moving water to avoid lumps. Allow around one hour for dissolution, adjusting for grade, water quality and temperature. The TDS gives 200–400 rpm as a mixing reference; adapt mixing to the actual tank and impeller. Avoid unnecessary high shear after dissolution. A 0.1% solution contains 1 kg of product per 1,000 kg of final solution. Select the treatment dose separately through controlled trials.
Featured packaging is a 25 kg PE bag with an inner plastic liner. Store the dry product sealed at 0–35 °C, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. The stated shelf life is two years under specified storage conditions. Reseal opened packaging and follow the current SDS for handling and spill cleanup.
CPAM is used here for sludge conditioning. Dissolved chromium requires suitable upstream chemistry and verified separation.
Do not assume so. Compare each stream or the documented operating blend because their conditioning requirements can differ.
Yes. Evaluate filtrate quality, cake permeability, release and cycle time under the actual pressure and feed conditions.
No. Dewatering changes water content. Contaminant testing and applicable handling requirements remain separate considerations.
