Blufloc CPAM is a 20–100 mesh cationic polyacrylamide powder with a minimum solid content of 89%. It is evaluated for conditioning sludge from food-processing wastewater treatment, with grade selection based on organic solids, fats, upstream chemicals and the dewatering machine.
Food factories generate different sludges from flotation, coagulation and biological treatment. Protein-rich, starch-rich and fat-rich sludge can behave differently, even when all are described as food industry sludge. Changes in product lines and cleaning schedules may also alter the feed to the dewatering system.
Blufloc CPAM can promote aggregation of compatible organic and fine suspended solids before mechanical separation. Selection aims for a useful balance of drainage, capture and cake handling. This application concerns the wastewater sludge line and does not imply authorization to add the polymer to food or return treated solids to food production.
Condition compatible sludge from food wastewater treatment processes.
Compare charge and molecular weight across different organic sludge blends.
Assess drainage, solids capture and cake handling together.
Provide a documented granular powder with minimum 89% solid content.

Molecular weight and charge ranges describe the product family. Confirm the selected grade and current batch specification with Bluwat. The pH of a 1% product solution is a test parameter, not the required plant operating pH.
Determine whether the feed is flotation sludge, biological sludge or a blend. Record solids concentration and the upstream use of PAC, ferric salts or organic coagulants. Prepare CPAM separately and test a controlled dose range. Confirm the selected grade on the actual machine, including a representative change in production or cleaning-related sludge composition.
Use the sludge composition and dewatering method to define the screening matrix. Fat-rich flotation sludge may need a different conditioning response from waste activated sludge. Compare at similar feed solids and machine loading, and check that the make-up unit can dissolve the powder consistently. Product particle size is a handling specification, not an indication of the correct charge grade.
Track cake dry solids, filtrate or centrate quality, throughput and polymer use per tonne of dry solids. Include return-liquid loading and cleaning demand when assessing operating cost. A drier-looking cake should be confirmed by measurement rather than visual judgment alone.
Prepare a 0.1–0.5% solution by mass using clean water. Add powder gradually to moving water to avoid lumps. Allow around one hour for dissolution, adjusting for grade, water quality and temperature. The TDS gives 200–400 rpm as a mixing reference; adapt mixing to the actual tank and impeller. Avoid unnecessary high shear after dissolution. A 0.1% solution contains 1 kg of product per 1,000 kg of final solution. Select the treatment dose separately through controlled trials.
Featured packaging is a 25 kg PE bag with an inner plastic liner. Store the dry product sealed at 0–35 °C, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. The stated shelf life is two years under specified storage conditions. Reseal opened packaging and follow the current SDS for handling and spill cleanup.
No. The proportion of fats, proteins, starch, biological solids and chemical sludge changes the conditioning requirement.
No. It covers wastewater sludge dewatering. Direct food process applications require a separate grade and intended-use review.
If that is the plant process, test the real blend and its normal variation before selecting a grade.
Assess cake solids, solids capture, throughput and chemical demand together. The priority depends on the plant's actual limitation.
