Blufloc APAM is a powder flocculant for evaluating separation of suspended or chemically precipitated solids from fertilizer plant wastewater. The family molecular weight range is 5–25 million, with a minimum solid content of 89%. The selected grade must match the wastewater and upstream treatment chemistry.
Fertilizer manufacturing wastewater varies with the product and process. Some streams carry mineral fines or precipitates formed during treatment, while others are dominated by dissolved nutrients and salts. These streams require different treatment approaches and should not be assigned one universal polymer dosage.
APAM supports aggregation of compatible particles and microflocs after suitable pretreatment. It is evaluated to improve the separation step, not as a standalone solution for dissolved ammonia, nitrate or salinity. Where phosphate, fluoride or metals are treatment targets, the necessary reaction and residual concentration must be assessed separately.
Support floc growth in suitable mineral-bearing wastewater treatment systems.
Offer molecular weight and anionic charge options for comparative screening.
Evaluate clarified overflow with sludge consolidation and handling.
Provide bulk powder for plants with appropriate preparation capacity.

Molecular weight and charge ranges describe the product family. Confirm the selected grade and current batch specification with Bluwat. The pH of a 1% product solution is a test parameter, not the required plant operating pH.
Identify the fertilizer process and characterize each wastewater stream. Complete the required neutralization, precipitation or coagulation step before testing APAM where that sequence is appropriate. Prepare the polymer solution separately, add it to the particle-bearing stream and compare floc growth and separation. Validate the selected condition with normal production and cleaning-related variations.
Use conductivity, pH, precipitate characteristics and coagulant history to guide grade screening. High dissolved salt content can change polymer behavior, so test with actual plant water. Compare several molecular weight and charge combinations; the highest molecular weight is not automatically optimal. Confirm the specific selected grade rather than treating the full family range as a single product specification.
Measure overflow suspended solids or turbidity, settling behavior, sludge volume and dewaterability. Analyze dissolved target pollutants using the relevant plant methods. Include polymer consumption and downstream sludge management when comparing cost, and verify reuse or discharge quality through the complete water analysis.
Prepare a 0.1–0.5% solution by mass using clean water. Add powder gradually to moving water to avoid lumps. Allow around one hour for dissolution, adjusting for grade, water quality and temperature. The TDS gives 200–400 rpm as a mixing reference; adapt mixing to the actual tank and impeller. Avoid unnecessary high shear after dissolution. A 0.1% solution contains 1 kg of product per 1,000 kg of final solution. Select the treatment dose separately through controlled trials.
Featured packaging is a 750 kg net big bag. Store the dry product sealed at 0–35 °C, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. The stated shelf life is two years under specified storage conditions. Reseal opened packaging and follow the current SDS for handling and spill cleanup.
Ordinary flocculation is not a standalone treatment for these dissolved substances. Use the appropriate treatment process for each target.
Establish the sequence by testing. Where precipitation creates the solids, polymer is commonly evaluated after that reaction.
Not necessarily. Charge, water chemistry, mixing and sludge characteristics also govern the useful response.
No. Measure dissolved nutrients, salts and any other specified contaminants as well as suspended solids.
