A drilling mud needs enough carrying capacity to transport cuttings while remaining manageable through pumps, surface equipment and the annulus. Blufloc anionic polyacrylamide can be screened as a viscosity-building component where the selected grade is compatible with the water chemistry, clay system and operating temperature.
Product selection should begin with the required rheological profile, rather than a single funnel-viscosity target. Molecular weight, anionic charge and polymer concentration affect solution behavior. The 5–25 million molecular-weight range covers different grades; the highest molecular weight is not automatically the most suitable choice for a particular mud.
Dry powder supply supports planned stockholding and on-site preparation without transporting a ready-made dilute solution.
Grade selection allows formulators to compare viscosity development against pumpability and solids-control requirements.
The specified minimum solids and particle-size range provide clear purchasing criteria for evaluating incoming material.

Molecular weight and anionic degree are family ranges, not a single grade specification. Confirm the selected grade and agreed supply criteria before ordering. ISO 9001 refers to the manufacturer’s quality management system, not a guarantee of application performance.
Provide the make-up water analysis, bentonite content, existing additives, expected circulating temperature and target fluid properties. Compare candidate grades in the complete mud because dissolved salts, calcium, drilled solids and chemical interactions can change the result obtained in clean water.
Assess low-shear response, plastic viscosity, yield point and gel development alongside filtration and circulation pressure. Excessive thickening can increase hydraulic demand or complicate solids removal. A favorable laboratory viscosity result should therefore be followed by a controlled system trial.
Prepare a base-mud control and candidate APAM samples using identical water, clay hydration and mixing conditions.
Measure a concentration series after complete hydration; record the instrument, temperature and test speed for every viscosity result.
Check rheology and filtration after representative aging and mechanical handling, then examine compatibility with the solids-control equipment.
Select a treatment level that meets the agreed carrying-capacity and hydraulic limits, and establish adjustment criteria for field use.
Use clean, compatible make-up water and add the powder gradually into an established mixing flow. Avoid dumping powder in one location, which can create lumps with dry cores. The TDS gives 0.1–0.5% as general solution-preparation guidance. If specified on an as-supplied powder mass basis, this corresponds to 1–5 kg of powder per 1,000 kg of final solution; agree the concentration basis for the project.
Allow approximately one hour of agitation as a starting reference, then confirm complete hydration. Water quality, temperature, grade and equipment affect the required time. The TDS’s 200–400 rpm reference is equipment dependent and should not be scaled to a different tank solely by rpm. Avoid severe shear after hydration. Determine the final treatment dosage through the application tests described above.
The featured packaging is a 25 kg PE bag with an inner plastic liner. The TDS also lists 25 kg kraft paper or PE bags and 750 kg net big bags. Store powder dry, protected from direct sunlight and at 0–35°C. Keep opened packaging tightly closed. Consult the current SDS for handling, spill control and personal protection.
Bluwat Chemicals is a China-based manufacturer and exporter of water treatment chemicals and functional polymers. Our business began in 2000, Bluwat was formally established in 2002, and our Yixing factory began production in 2004. We operate three production bases, including Yixing and Huaibei, and have supplied a cumulative 800,000 tonnes of products to customers in around 100 countries and regions. Our portfolio includes BWD-01 Water Decoloring Agent, PAM powder and emulsions, PolyDADMAC, Polyamine, PAC, Ferric Sulphate and ACH.
Our production and export background supports technical communication and supply planning for overseas industrial buyers.
We help customers compare wastewater or process conditions, treatment objectives and suitable chemical combinations before choosing a product.
Our coagulants, flocculants and specialty chemicals support projects in oil and gas, mining, textiles, pulp and paper, and municipal water treatment.
Our ISO 9001 quality management system and agreed grade specifications provide a basis for purchasing discussions. Application performance is verified through the relevant trials.
No. It refers to the packaged powder stored under recommended conditions. Prepare solution according to site needs and verify its condition before use; the TDS does not specify a two-year solution storage life.
It is a useful field indicator but does not describe the full flow behavior. Compare rotational rheology, gels, filtration and pumping response before selecting a grade.
No. Solids content is a supply specification. Mud viscosity also depends on grade, concentration, water quality, temperature and the other components in the formulation.
