Blufloc APAM is an anionic polymer powder with a specified pH of 6–8 when measured as a 1% aqueous solution. It is available for evaluating rheology development in drilling fluids where cuttings transport and suspension are priorities. The featured packaging is a 25 kg PE bag.
Effective hole cleaning depends on more than bulk fluid viscosity. Flow rate, annular geometry, hole inclination, cuttings size and the mud's low-shear behavior all influence transport. Blufloc APAM can be screened as a polymer component where additional viscosity development is compatible with the overall fluid design.
The target is a useful transport response with manageable pressure losses and restart behavior. Polymer selection should examine both circulating performance and the suspension behavior during interruptions. A thicker laboratory sample does not by itself demonstrate improved cleaning in an actual well.
Candidate grades can be compared for low-shear response and viscosity development at practical preparation conditions.
A documented solution-pH specification supports product identification without prescribing the mud's operating pH.
Dry polymer supply allows the concentration series to be adjusted to the project's hydraulic and solids-management limits.

Molecular weight and anionic degree are family ranges, not a single grade specification. Confirm the selected grade and agreed supply criteria before ordering. ISO 9001 refers to the manufacturer’s quality management system, not a guarantee of application performance.
Provide hole size and inclination, planned circulation rates, mud density, cuttings characteristics and the complete additive package. Include the expected water quality and temperature because clean-water polymer response may differ from behavior in a loaded drilling mud.
Compare suspension and carrying behavior against pumpability, equivalent circulating density constraints and gel development. Excessive gels can make restart conditions less manageable. Select a grade and treatment level that work with the circulation program rather than using polymer addition as the only adjustment.
Prepare control and candidate fluids with the same base water, solids content and hydration sequence.
Measure low-shear rheology, yield behavior and gels after fixed rest periods, recording the test conditions.
Evaluate representative cuttings transport or settling in a suitable laboratory setup and compare fluid handling after aging.
Confirm the preferred formulation against hydraulic limits and define monitoring points for a controlled site trial.
Use clean, compatible make-up water and add the powder gradually into an established mixing flow. Avoid dumping powder in one location, which can create lumps with dry cores. The TDS gives 0.1–0.5% as general solution-preparation guidance. If specified on an as-supplied powder mass basis, this corresponds to 1–5 kg of powder per 1,000 kg of final solution; agree the concentration basis for the project.
Allow approximately one hour of agitation as a starting reference, then confirm complete hydration. Water quality, temperature, grade and equipment affect the required time. The TDS’s 200–400 rpm reference is equipment dependent and should not be scaled to a different tank solely by rpm. Avoid severe shear after hydration. Determine the final treatment dosage through the application tests described above.
The featured packaging is a 25 kg PE bag with an inner plastic liner. The TDS also lists 25 kg kraft paper or PE bags and 750 kg net big bags. Store powder dry, protected from direct sunlight and at 0–35°C. Keep opened packaging tightly closed. Consult the current SDS for handling, spill control and personal protection.
Bluwat Chemicals is a China-based manufacturer and exporter of water treatment chemicals and functional polymers. Our business began in 2000, Bluwat was formally established in 2002, and our Yixing factory began production in 2004. We operate three production bases, including Yixing and Huaibei, and have supplied a cumulative 800,000 tonnes of products to customers in around 100 countries and regions. Our portfolio includes BWD-01 Water Decoloring Agent, PAM powder and emulsions, PolyDADMAC, Polyamine, PAC, Ferric Sulphate and ACH.
Our production and export background supports technical communication and supply planning for overseas industrial buyers.
We help customers compare wastewater or process conditions, treatment objectives and suitable chemical combinations before choosing a product.
Our coagulants, flocculants and specialty chemicals support projects in oil and gas, mining, textiles, pulp and paper, and municipal water treatment.
Our ISO 9001 quality management system and agreed grade specifications provide a basis for purchasing discussions. Application performance is verified through the relevant trials.
The TDS value is the pH of a 1% APAM solution. It is not a prescribed mud operating range; the fluid engineer should set operating pH for the complete formulation.
No. Suspension depends on the fluid's rheology, cuttings loading, rest time and operating conditions. Test the required static and dynamic behavior.
It cannot replace a suitable circulation and hydraulic program. Evaluate transport and pressure limits together before increasing polymer dosage.
