Blufloc CPAM is a powder cationic polymer for conditioning sludge from palm oil mill effluent treatment. The recommended make-up solution concentration is 0.1–0.5%. Select the grade using the actual sludge source, digestion state, residual oil and intended dewatering equipment.
Palm oil mill effluent treatment systems may handle settled solids, anaerobically treated sludge and other organic residues. Fresh effluent, pond sludge and the feed to a mechanical dewatering unit are different materials. Their solids concentration, oil content and handling behavior can vary substantially.
A compatible CPAM grade can help aggregate fine organic sludge particles into flocs suitable for water release. Polymer conditioning is evaluated as one step within the existing solids management system. It does not replace oil recovery, biological treatment or the checks needed before any reuse of treated water or sludge.
Condition compatible POME sludge before mechanical separation.
Compare grades for the actual treatment and digestion stage.
Use a defined 0.1–0.5% range for consistent solution preparation.
Assess water release, solids retention and cake handling together.

Molecular weight and charge ranges describe the product family. Confirm the selected grade and current batch specification with Bluwat. The pH of a 1% product solution is a test parameter, not the required plant operating pH.
Collect representative sludge from the intended dewatering feed rather than from an unrelated pond location. Record solids, pH, temperature and residual oil conditions. Prepare CPAM solution separately and compare grades through drainage screening. Confirm promising results on the intended machine at realistic feed loading and after normal pumping and transfer.
The recommended solution concentration is not a fixed POME treatment dose. Determine polymer demand on a documented product and dry-solids basis. Oil-rich or highly aged sludge may respond differently from freshly generated biological sludge. Evaluate representative feed temperature; the powder's 0–35 °C storage specification does not establish a process temperature limit or heat-tolerance guarantee.
Measure cake dry solids, liquid suspended solids, throughput and polymer consumption per dry tonne. Note screen cleaning and cake handling behavior. If separated water returns to treatment or process use, assess the relevant oil, dissolved-organic and other water-quality requirements independently.
Prepare a 0.1–0.5% solution by mass using clean water. Add powder gradually to moving water to avoid lumps. Allow around one hour for dissolution, adjusting for grade, water quality and temperature. The TDS gives 200–400 rpm as a mixing reference; adapt mixing to the actual tank and impeller. Avoid unnecessary high shear after dissolution. A 0.1% solution contains 1 kg of product per 1,000 kg of final solution. Select the treatment dose separately through controlled trials.
Featured packaging is a 25 kg PE bag with an inner plastic liner. Store the dry product sealed at 0–35 °C, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. The stated shelf life is two years under specified storage conditions. Reseal opened packaging and follow the current SDS for handling and spill cleanup.
No. Identify the specific effluent or sludge stream and the separation objective before selecting a grade.
Prepare a fully dissolved solution first to support even distribution and reproducible conditioning.
No. It is the recommended make-up solution range. Establish the treatment dose separately.
No. Any reuse route requires assessment of the cake composition and the relevant process and end-use requirements.
